Race for Kwesi Nyantakyi’s seat: Alhaji Grusah withdraws from race

Alhaji Karim Grusah, owner of King Faisal Football club, has rescinded his decision to contest for the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

According to Alhaji Grusah, he took the decision after consultations with relatives and other well-meaning people in his life.

speaking in an interview on Mframa Radio on Wednesday, Alhaji Grusah said he believes the right person for the position aside him will be elected.

“I have withdrawn from the presidential race though I prayed to God about my decision to contest in the presidential race because I believe I have the potentials to bring Ghana football back on its feet.

“I was hoping to bring a change but since I am out, I believe God will appoint the right person in my stead, but I am going to join the Executive Council race for the Division One League board,” he assured.

The GFA presidential position has been vacant following the ban on Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi from all football-related activities by FIFA.

Kurt Okraku, Winfred Osei Palmer, Fred Pappoe and Nana Yaw Amponsah are among those who have declared their intention to vie for the position.
